How Digital SAT scoring works

A SAT score calculator can help with practice planning, but it cannot turn a raw answer count into a guaranteed official score. The Digital SAT uses section scores, adaptive modules, and a scaled scoring model, so a transparent range is more useful than false precision. This calculator keeps that uncertainty visible in the output.

Two section scores

The estimate keeps Reading and Writing and Math separate before combining them. Each section is shown on the familiar 200–800 scale, while the total combines both section ranges on a 400–1600 scale.

The second module matters

The second module is adaptive. A higher- or lower-difficulty route can lead to different scaled-score estimates for a similar number of correct answers, which is why each section has its own route setting.

A range is more honest

Question difficulty, the route, and the scoring model can affect the scaled result. When the route is unknown, this SAT score predictor shows both modeled outcomes instead of pretending that every question has one fixed point value.

Accuracy notes, limits, and edge cases

The most useful SAT score calculator is clear about what it can and cannot know. This page estimates from module-level correct answers; it does not see the exact question parameters, unscored questions, response pattern, or official scoring record behind a College Board report.

Use 0 when a module has no correct answers and use the maximum shown when a module is perfect. Empty fields, decimals, negative numbers, percentages, and counts above the module limit are rejected by the calculator so a typo does not silently become part of your estimate. If you do not know the Module 2 route, Not sure is a valid choice, not an error.
